God has gone above & beyond in showing me (Grace) how faithful he is. Last summer I was reading a book, and it prompted me to truly think and pray about what I felt God was calling me to do with my life. I honed in on what I saw God placed on my heart as one of my ultimate dreams— to create a stationery company. Those who know me, know that I have an obsession with stationery. Words of affirmation is my top love language, and naturally, because I love to receive life-giving words, I try my very best to give them abundantly. There is so much power in every word that has ever been spoken or written or that will ever be. God created the world by speaking it into existence. Three words “let there be” brought life into the earth; three words “it is finished” won eternal life for all. Words are so near and dear to my heart, which is why I believe God has encouraged me to pursue this idea of creating a medium for others to share life-giving words with someone else. Little did I know, my passion for words would only be half of what my full dream came to be. Writing and creating art are two of my biggest passions, and to pursue this dream meant I had to open myself up to criticism and possible rejection. This is my most vulnerable act yet, but I'm trusting in this dream because it was placed on my heart for a reason. When I decided I would fully give it my all to start this, I knew I wanted to have an intentional name for my company… duh because words matter. I settled on Art Is a Verb Design Co. because it encompasses all of the things I dream this company could be some day. The phrase art is a verb is one that I fell in love with a while ago because it challenged me to think about art in a different way. In my opinion, most people get lost in the final piece of art rather than the act of creating the art. I dream that this company would be one that people use as a catapult to art. A designer designs, an illustrator illustrates, a creator creates, so why can an artist not art? I believe art comes in many different forms, whether that be in writing a letter, sitting down to paint, taking a spin on the pottery wheel, or creating literally anything. The biggest way God romances me is through his creation. I love how he creates masterpiece after masterpiece. I love how he created LIFE with WORDS! I love how he arts. So this is my dream for this company: I hope that it can be a place for all creatives to art. I hope that it can be a place to sell stationery, paintings, and other designs to glorify Christ. I hope that it can be a place to share words from the heart. I hope that it encourages the use of life-giving words, and I hope that it inspires the artist inside everyone to simply art— to be in the moment and experience how the Creator of the universe can work in awe-inspiring ways. WE WERE CREATED TO CREATE! Thank you Jesus for making dreams come true!!
We exist to encourage the use of life-giving words by creating beautiful tools designed with the intention of awakening the inner artist God placed in every one of us along the way.
We are convinced that art really can be a verb. We are convinced that a kind word really does bring life into any situation. By modeling our company after the greatest Artist to ever live, we aim to
transform a new generation of people to art how God art-ed.
